Jonah Hill has pleaded with fans to stop commenting on his body in a passionate message.

The 21 Jump Street actor, 37, was praised by many as he uploaded a post on Instagram, explaining that the comments don’t ‘feel good’.

‘I know you mean well but I kindly ask that you not comment on my body,’ he penned to his 3.1million followers. 

‘Good or bad I want to politely let you know it’s not helpful and doesn’t feel good. Much respect.’

Sister Beanie Feldstein led support for the Oscar nominee below the post, proudly yelling: ‘THATS 👏 MY 👏 BROTHER 👏.’

SNL star Aidy Bryant posted a tick as SZA replied: ‘Absolutely love you. Thank you!!’

‘So much respect for you writing this Jonah,’ a fan commented. ‘Nobody has any right to comment on your body, it is sacred to you and let’s focus on your absolutely incredible acting and projects that you are doing constantly

‘Sorry you had to get to a point where you had to post this..,’ a follower agreed. ‘People just don’t understand…..

‘I love you Jonah you’re a phenomenal actor! Hope you’re doing great despite this!’

As an Instagram user added: ‘I cannot believe you even need to say this still.’

Jonah made headlines when he opened up about the struggles he has had with his body image since stepping foot in the spotlight.

Pictures recently surfaced of the Superbad actor enjoying a day out at the beach, and surfing shirtless in the sunshine.

Speaking about the photos, he later shared: ‘I don’t think I ever took my shirt off in a pool until I was in my mid 30s even in front of family and friends.’

He said that he has been mocked over his body for years, and is no longer fazed by the printing of those pictures.

‘I’m 37 and finally love and accept myself,’ Jonah added.
