Lily Allen’s ‘slick’ West End performance received a lot of praise from fans and critics and now BBC bosses are reportedly considering her for a new drama.

The 36-year-old Smile singer has impressed Beeb bosses with her theatrical performance in 2:22 A Ghost Story at the Noel Coward Theatre in London and it’s been said the broadcaster is eyeing her up.

‘Lily has made quite a big impression with one or two key decision-makers at the corporation who were pleasantly surprised by how good she was on stage,’ a source said.

Chiefs are said to be searching for the perfect role for her, but ultimately, the decision is in the hands of the casting teams.

The insider added to The Sun: ‘If her turns on the West End stage are anything to go by, she stands a good chance of getting a great role.’

In the play, the songwriter portrayed Jenny, a woman convinced her house is haunted and as she attempts to make her friends and family believe her.

She starred alongside former EastEnders actor Jake Wood, 48, City Of Angels’ Hadley Fraser, 41, and Julia Chan, 38, of Silent House.

Critics have hailed her performances as ‘spellbinding, strong and slick.’

Lily, who is married to Stranger Things actor David Harbour, recently revealed she was planning to read the reviews, even though she knows they could be negative.

She explained: ‘I mean, I think it’s pretty unavoidable, really. Because I do quite a lot of promotion with my Twitter, Instagram, and you’re always trying to use those kind of things in order to [promote the show]. But I’d need to read them to see if they’re good or bad, to see whether I post them up or not.’

Acting certainly runs in the Allen family as her father Keith Allen, 68, played serial killer John Cooper in the mini drama series, The Pembrokeshire Murders, while her 35-year-old brother Alfie Allen played Theon Greyjoy in fantasy epic Game of Thrones.

Lily has had a phenomenal career in the music industry and has produced top 10 hits like The Fear and Not Fair.

She also had her own BBC Three chat show, Lily Allen And Friends, which ran for just one series.
