The course of true love never did run smooth… so why not make it even more complicated with new Channel 4 dating show The Love Trap?

The Love Trap is part reality show, part gameshow, putting a group of women and one man to the test as some try to find love and others secretly scheme their way to a cash prize.

Presented by Joel Dommett, it’s sure to be an intriguing watch, as contestants find themselves at risk of being dumped through a literal booby trap in the floor.

Considering The Love Trap is made by the same executive producers as Too Hot To Handle, viewers can expect masses of drama as the singletons chase their hearts’ desire, whether that’s romance or fortune.

So how does The Love Trap work?

How does The Love Trap work and who is starring on the show?

The Love Trap will see 12 women go up against each other in an effort to win over one man, as they each go on a series of dates.

The man in question is David Birtwistle, who TV viewers may recognise from season one of Too Hot To Handle on Netflix.

Of the dozen women taking part, half of them genuinely want to get to know David to see if they click.

However, the other half are in it for the cash, aiming to stay in the game so they can win a jackpot at the end.

Each episode, one woman will be selected as someone suspected of being a ‘love trap’ and they will be dumped through a trap door. Savage!

Presenter Joel said he was ‘super proud’ to be a part of the show, saying: ‘I love lying, love, and trap doors so it’s all I’ve ever wanted. It’s genuinely a huge idea and I’m excited that they have trusted me at the helm.’
