‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan is recovering after undergoing emergency surgery this week.
The WWE Hall of Famer – whose wife Debra revealed he was in hospital for an unknown procedure on Wednesday – has given fans a positive update on his health and thanked everyone for keeping him in their players.
On Hacksaw’s official Twitter account, she shared a photo of him in bed with his signature ‘thumbs up’ pose and revealed ‘everything went well’.
The caption read: ‘Out of surgery and back in his room. Everything went well. Thank you for your prayers, good vibes and good thoughts. You can keep them coming in.’
Fans and fellow wrestlers were delighted by the good news, including ex-WWE and current AEW star Matt Hard who tweeted: ‘Great to hear! Stay strong, my friend.’
And Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts had already shared on his own account: ‘Great news !!! Hacksaw Jim Duggan is out of surgery and recovering!!’
Earlier on Wednesday, Duggan’s wife Debra shared a picture of him in a hospital bed as she asked fans to keep the 67-year-old retired star in their prayers.
In a message posted on his own Twitter account, she wrote: ‘Back where we don’t want to be. Please pray for Jim and his doctors as he has emergency surgery this morning. Thank you, Debra’.
No further details have been given regarding the procedure at this time.
Meanwhile, there has also been no word on the health issues Duggan is dealing with at this time.
At the end of 2018, the star was hospitalised due to heart issues and spent time in ICU, and in January 2020 gave a health update after listening to his doctor’s orders.

‘I’m doing great but I had a few health issues last year. I listened to my doctor and I’ve dropped about 40 pounds and am doing much better,’ he told The Wrestling Inc Daily at the time, adding that he’d definitely wrestled his last match.
‘Once in a while I’ll hit the ring with a 2×4. I joke that it works as good as it always has,’ he said. ‘I still love doing the indies because those are the kids that really love wrestling. They have regular jobs but still love wrestling so much.
‘They know the odds of making it are a million to one but it’s still great to go out and see those kids out there and be a part of their show.
