I overslept on my WEDDING day and so did my parents – but we managed to save the marriage says This Morning bride

THIS Morning viewers were today treated to the tale of a bride who nearly slept through her own wedding.

Alison contacted the ITV show to tell the shocking story of how she overslept – but said she did manage to get married.

Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary heard This Morning viewers’ oversleeping mishaps

Dermot O’Leary read out her message saying: “I overslept on the day of my wedding, as did my parents.

“Everything else decided to go wrong, but I did manage to get married.”

Host Alison Hammond reasoned: “But she’s the bride. The bride can be late, it doesn’t matter. Doesn’t matter at all.”

Dermot added: “The parents not so much.”

The show was hosting a phone-in from viewers explaining their stories of being late for big events after a member of staff on the show, Alice, overslept.

Another viewer explained: “Jessica said I had the opposite happen to me.

“When I worked in a shop and started at 6am I woke up in a panic and scrambled and got dressed.

“Only when I got my shoes on I realised it was 2am in the morning.”
