Twisted killer Wayne Couzens rang escort for sex ‘hours after burning Sarah Everard’s body’

DEPRAVED Wayne Couzens phoned an escort for sex hours after burning Sarah Everard’s body, it is claimed.

The killer gun cop, 48, is said to have called on the day he took his wife and two kids for a “family day out” to the same woods where he dumped Sarah and tried to destroy her remains.

The horrified prostitute only realised the significance of the call when detectives contacted her later.

Couzens – who was obsessed with call girls and dating sites – first contacted the £80-an-hour sex worker through her online profile in February.

By then he was already planning to kidnap a random woman off the street and rape her, the Old Bailey heard last month.

Weeks later in March he hired a car to drive to London where he chose Sarah as his victim as she walked alone through Clapham.

He lured her into the car using his warrant card, put her in handcuffs in a bogus arrest, then drove her to Kent where he strangled her with his police belt.

Couzens dumped her body in builder’s sacks on land he owned near Ashford, and returned twice more to set the remains on fire and then move them.

Chillingly, four days after the murder he took his family to the same woods for a day trip.

He even let his kids play near the pond where he had dumped Sarah only hours before.

Now the escort he was in contact with has revealed how he phoned her that very day – but she missed the call.

The mum of two, who asked not to be named, told the Daily Mail: “The police told me the man I had been messaging was the man who kidnapped and murdered Sarah. They wanted to see if I was OK.

“It’s scary – I keep thinking, that could’ve been me. It’s shocking how much of a lucky escape I’ve actually had. It was hard at first to get my head around the fact my daughter could’ve ended up without a mum.”

‘SO SICK’

She said the most horrifying part was learning he’d gone back to the scene with his wife and children.

She said: “It’s so sick that he called me four days after the murder and on a family day out.

“It’s like he kept getting pleasure from going back to the scene of the crime, but to take your kids there, it’s sick.”

Couzens, who admitted rape and murder, was sentenced to a rare whole life tariff last month.

The police marksman was nicknamed The Rapist by colleagues in the Civil Nuclear Constabulary.

But shockingly he was not vetted before transferring to the Met’s diplomatic protection unit.

The Sun told how he showed off a prostitute he took to a hotel party with Met colleagues, calling her his “bit of brass”.

Another escort showed up at his police station demanding to be paid, in another incident that should have rung alarm bells in the force.
