Weather can play a crucial role in a Formula One Grand Prix weekend. One of the most important aspects of an F1 weekend is the intense qualifying session, which will set the grid for Sunday’s race.

Hence, teams and drivers push themselves to the limit as they zip around the track. However, weather can break or make their session, and for the United States Grand Prix, drivers can be thankful as the weather forecast predicts it to be sunny.

The weather forecast for the United States Grand Prix

There have been times where there was rain at the quali session. However, for this weekend there won’t be any showers as it is said to be sunny.

When qualifying starts at 4 PM local time, the forecast is said to be 26 degrees Celcius, with precipitation at zero percent, humidity at 28%, and winds reaching a speed of 8 km/h

As the chequered flag brings the quali session to an end, it is 24 degrees Celcius, precipitation at zero, humidity increasing to 36%, while winds would still be at 8 km/h.

Who was the fastest in FP1 and FP2 in Austin?

After a year’s absence, the Circuit of the Americas is back on the F1 calendar for the upcoming weekend. As teams were getting ready for the first practice session of the day, it was Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas who stole the show by setting the fastest lap. While his teammate, Lewis Hamilton had to settle for second place.

However, in FP2 the tables were turned as this time it was Red Bull’s Sergio Perez who set the fastest lap. While Bottas had fallen down fourth place on the timesheet.

Now, with FP3 and the quali session still left, teams and drivers will aim to give it their all, with the hopes of having a stellar United States  Grand Prix this weekend.
