And recently, a pair of his old shoes have shattered the record for the most expensive Jordans sold.

Jordan was part of a Bulls squad that created history in the NBA. He won six titles, including multiple three-peats. Averaging more than 30 points, he was a 14-time All-star and a 6-time Finals MVP. Even after retirement, Jordan has worked actively as an entrepreneur, social worker, and even owns the Charlotte Hornets franchise. Thus, the craze for anything related to one of the game’s greatest has not died. In fact, his legacy only continues to grow.

Michael Jordan Nike shoes from 1984 sold for record-breaking price
During his two decade long career, ‘His Airness’ had numerous memorable games. His rookie season came way back in 1984, where he impressed the masses. In just his fifth game for the men in red, MJ donned a pair of Nike Air Ship shoes that did wonders for him. The red and white shoes were stored and maintained till date. And on Sunday, these were sold at an auction for a whopping $1.47 million.
The signed sneakers were put up for sale at Sotheby’s, where people went berserk in their bid to acquire the boots. And after some intense bidding, they were sold for almost one and a half million dollars. As seen in the video, the sneakers are relatively worn out, but as iconic as ever. This turned out to be a record price for any Jordan shoes, comfortably surpassing the previous $615,000 Air Jordans which were sold in August 2020.
Michael Jordan and his merchandise and accessories continue to do wonders. The sheer buzz that the man still creates even today, proves how privileged the world was to have seen him in action. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest sportsman of all time, and his sneakers are a symbolic reflection of his class!
