When will Fortnite be back and how long are the servers down for update 18.30?
What changes will the Cube Queen bring today? (pic: Epic Games)
Fortnite is getting ready for its Halloween celebrations and is going to be down for most of Tuesday morning, but it’ll be back soon.
Fans are well used to Fortnite being down just before a major update but the one this week isn’t for a change of season, which makes the current downtime relatively unusual.
The reason things are down this time is because of update 18.30, which will be up and running later today but will take some time to implement.
It shouldn’t take too long and after that Fortnite will be ready for Halloween, and hopefully sporting some new weapons and maybe even a change to the map.
When will Fortnite update 18.30 be live?
Epic Games hasn’t said exactly when Fortnite will be back today and there’s no way they could anyway, as it’s not an exact science.
The servers were taken down at 9am BST on Tuesday and while there’s no way to know when they’ll be back Epic usually warn if it’s going to be an unusually long wait.
The fact that they haven’t suggests it’ll only be a few hours and Epic has said it’ll definitely be up and working by midday.
Things can go wrong though, in switching over to the new update, so you shouldn’t count on being able to play Fortnite during the day on Tuesday.

What is new in Fortnite update 18.30?
Like the first Fortnitemares event last week the new update is going to be Halloween themed, but it’ll also probably involve the un-vaulting of a classic item – either the Combat Shotgun or the Boogie Bomb.
It’s also possible that Cube Town may be transformed into a pyramid, thanks to the influence of the Cube Queen, which certainly seems to be the overall idea for the season, even if it’s not clear if it’ll happen today.
