‘Can’t Be Real’: LeBron James Reacts to Squid Game Director Bashing Space Jam 2

LeBron James, apart from sports, is an ardent fan of filmmaking. No wonder why he started his involvement way early when he was associated with the documentary, ‘More Than a Game’. And now, it is his criticism of Netflix’s Squid Game that again brought him to the attention of the movie/film-series buffs.

The Los Angeles Lakers star got the taste of his own medicine when Squid Game’s director made a savage comeback against his criticism. It was one such comment that Bron could not believe it was actually said.

LeBron James got a surprise blow from Squid Game’s director

Squid Game, weeks after its release, became Netflix’s most-watched show with 111+ million views in less than 30 days. Naturally, the South Korean show attracted reactions from some big names and LeBron James was one of them.

The Akron Hammer, after one of his interviews, discussed the show with Anthony Davis and cameras caught their interaction. The 36-YO clearly disliked the ending and agreed it was that way just because the makers wanted a sequel. This caught the media’s attention and reached the show’s director, Hwang Dong-hyuk.

The 50-YO retaliated in his latest comments and said he might have the same response if LeBron ever comes up with a sequel to Space Jam.

Bron certainly could not believe that comeback and rather took it lightly, at least on Twitter.

Are there any chances of Space Jam 2’s sequel?

Well, LeBron James’ reaction to Squid Game and then its maker’s comeback has now given a rise to the expectation of Space Jam 3. So are there some chances it will be made?

The last two Space Jams were made with the leads (MJ & Bron) still active in the NBA. So taking that as Warner Bros’s condition for choosing its lead cast, Bron must sign for the sequel in a year itself. This, because it’ll take at least a couple of years to come out and King James might retire in the coming 3-4 years. So if not for Bron, the makers might find another upcoming superstar to do it later in the decade.

But whatever be the case, at least Squid Game’s director has his prejudice ready. As he had added, “LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I’m very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn’t change my ending. That’s my ending.”

That’s some toughness from the director in the limelight. So whose side are you on? Help us know in the comments section below.
