Tiger King season 2 is set for release on Netflix in just a couple of weeks, with the streaming giant promising even more mayhem and madness to come.

Many viewers assumed the hit documentary series was over after season 1 ended with Joe Exotic’s arrest and imprisonment for trying to hire someone to kill animal rights activist and his longtime rival Carole Baskin.

However, Netflix surprised fans in September with the news that another chapter is on the cards because the original ‘only scratched the surface’.

So, when will Tiger King 2 be released and what’s it all about?

When will Tiger King season 2 be released on Netflix?

There’s not too much longer to wait now before the second chapter of Netflix’s Tiger King is released.

The streaming giant has confirmed that the new series will premiere on Wednesday, November 17, so set those calendar alerts.

What will Tiger King season 2 be about?

As it currently stands, not much is known about what Tiger King 2 will be about as the one-minute trailer doesn’t give too much away.

At the end of the clip, Joe Exotic is seen in prison telling the camera: ‘This was about getting to the truth.’

Will Joe Exotic feature?

It remains to be seen just how much Exotic, real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage, will star in the series given that he is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence for animal abuse charges and a murder-for-hire plot.

Although he’s behind bars, it seems that he will indeed appear in some form, as the trailer shows a brief snippet of footage of him on the phone in jail.

Carole Baskin, who shot to fame in the first series, will not be featured in season two either.

Following the news that a second season had been confirmed, the Big Cat Rescue sanctuary owner said in a statement to Metro.co.uk that she doesn’t understand how it is being made, considering Joe, a convicted felon, is in prison.

‘I don’t know how they put out a Tiger King 2 when Joe’s in jail and I’m refusing to be played again,’ she said.

‘Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.’

Carole said she has been contacted by executive producer and director Rebecca Chaiklin, although she has no interest in accepting the calls.

Tiger King 2 arrives on November 17 on Netflix.
