Rishi Sunak has announced that a new Beatles attraction will open in Liverpool as part of the Budget.
The Chancellor spoke about protecting museums, galleries, libraries and local culture.
‘Thanks to the Culture Secretary, over 800 regional museums and libraries will be renovated, restored, and revived,’ Mr Sunak said.
‘And she’s secured up to £2million to start work on a new Beatles attraction on the Liverpool waterfront.’
The announcement was met by a cheer from the House of Commons.
It’s not clear just yet how the attraction will differ from the current Beatles museum in Liverpool, which houses the largest singularly owned authentic Beatles collections in the world.

It comes after it was announced that Sir Paul McCartney will reveal unseen Beatles lyrics to an unrecorded song in his new book.
The musician, 79, has penned a book titled The Lyrics, which will feature the words of 154 songs.
The words of tracks including Hey Jude, Live and Let Die, Band on the Run, Yesterday and Blackbird will all appear.

Publisher Allen Lane said the book would also feature the lyrics to unrecorded tune Tell Me Who He Is.
Sir Paul discovered the words in one of his notebooks, believed to date back to the 60s, as he was preparing to write the book.
In addition to lyrics, the publication will feature handwritten lyric sheets, personal photographs and drawings.
Elsewhere in the Budget, Mr Sunak announced that key workers are set for a pay rise, ending the freeze on public sector pay and that the living wage will be increased to £9.50 per hour.

Meanwhile, rounds at the pub will be ever so slightly cheaper as Mr Sunak cuts some alcohol duties.
‘Draft relief’ – a new lower rate of duty on draft beer and cider – will bring the price of a pint down by 3p.
