The Repair Shop viewers teary-eyed as customer hears late father’s musical instrument played for first time in decades

The Repair Shop fans were emotional tonight when customer Sima Oskoui was able to play her father’s Persian musical instrument for the first time in decades thanks to Julyan Wallis’ restoration.

Presenter Jay Blades and Julyan were in awe as they inspected Sima’s relic, however, once they noticed the holes and broken strings, the pair wondered how they were going to fix it.

‘Jules have you ever seen anything like this?’ Jay asked. ‘Because I’ve never.’

‘Genuinely I’ve never in my 30 years of doing this have never met a tar before, so it’s a nice first for me,’ Julyan responded.

However Sima just insisted that she would like the pair to work their ‘magic fingers’ and put a ‘spell on it,’ and they did just that.

The episode concluded with Sima shocked (in a good way) at Julyan’s crafty work, and fans were overwhelmed by the moment.

After one of the experts played a little song on the instrument to prove to Sima that it still worked, viewers flocked to Twitter as they cried happy tears.

One user said: ‘I caught the last 10 mins of The Repair Shop tonight and I am totally wrecked emotionally.’

I don’t usually watch The Repair Shop as I find it a bit too much but the lady hearing her father’s Tar being played for the first time in decades is absolutely wonderful.

While another added: ‘I hate watching The Repair Shop,’ with the crying-face emojis next to the tweet.

Elsewhere, main man Jay and the other experts set to restore a barbershop seat and a Victorian rocking horse named Edward.

Visitor Jennie from Newcastle brought in the antique toy to help put a smile on 41-year-old daughter Kate, who she described as having ‘a very extended happy childhood.’

The valued item had been living outside for years and was covered in scratches, and Jennie wanted it to look as good as when it first arrived.
