In Pictures: George Russell Visits Miami Dolphins’ Stadium as 2022 Miami GP Track Nears Completion

The 2022 Formula One season is set to have the longest calendar ever in the history of Formula One, with 23 races being held across the world. The most interesting addition to the calendar is the second Grand Prix in the United States apart from the one at COTA, set to be held in Miami. And now, Williams F1 Driver, George Russell made a brief visit to the Miami site and gave fans a sneak-peek into via his Twitter account.

Russell visits Hard Rock Stadium where the Miami GP will happen

The new Miami Grand Prix will be held between May 6 to May 8 in 2022. The GP will have the drivers navigate a street circuit built around the Hard Rock Stadium in the Miami Bay Area, where construction for the new track has already started.

The construction site saw a new visitor recently when Williams driver George Russell visited the place where the new Miami Grand Prix track is being built.

Russell, who is stepping into the Mercedes next year after completing a much-awaited step up to the top of the field, posted two pictures of himself standing near the Hard Rock Stadium. It is also the home stadium of the American Football team Miami Dolphins, with the caption “Looking good for 2022, Miami.

The track is part of a new trend of F1 taking its races to street circuits, much to the fury of traditional F1 fans, as another race at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia will also debut from the 2021 season.

George Russell has had a brilliant 2021 season

2021 has been an immense season for George Russell as he prepares for his upgrade to Mercedes. Interestingly, George achieved his career’s first-ever podium this year at the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa. Even though the ‘race’ didn’t really happen, he had put together a brilliant lap on Saturday before, which put his Williams in P2.

George has been an important asset to Williams as they try to claw back their way from the bottom of the grid to a respectable midfield position. His departure will definitely hurt the team in 2022, however, this is a move he’s long been waiting for. With the Mercedes team behind him, he’ll be able to fully showcase his skills.
