“She Won the US Open and…”: Andy Murray Admits of Being Jealous of Emma Raducanu

Former World No.1 Andy Murray recently lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the second round of the Vienna Open 2021. The rising star defeated him in straight sets and never really gave him a chance to bounce back. The final scoreline of the match was 6-3, 6-4.

Fans became quite stunned after Andy Murray battled past Huber Hurkacz in the very first round of the Vienna Open 2021. Even though his run came to an end in Vienna, fans are hopeful that he will soon return to the court at the Paris Masters and Davis Cup Finals 2021.

Andy Murray accepts that he is jealous of Emma Raducanu

In a recent interview to the Express.co.uk, Murray admitted that he is a little bit jealous of the US Open 2021 winner, Emma Raducanu. He stated that he is very envious of the fact that the 18-year-old can speak really fluent Mandarin while he can’t do that.

“I would love to speak Spanish because I think if you speak Spanish and English it is brilliant. However, I feel like that is very achievable, but one that isn’t is Mandarin. I saw Emma Raducanu speaking Mandarin after she won the US Open and I was very jealous of that,” said Murray in the interview.

Raducanu has connections with China since her mother hails from that country. It is because of this reason that she spoke some really great Mandarin after lifting the US Open 2021 title.

“Yeah, I’d probably say Mandarin because I don’t think it is something that I would be able to learn whereas Spanish if I dedicated enough time to it, I could probably do it,” added the 3-time Grand Slam champion.

Fans are wondering where Andy Murray will play after the Vienna Open 2021. Will he change his mind and decide to feature at the Davis Cup Finals 2021?
