“March”- A Huge Name Agrees to Fight Conor McGregor for His UFC Return in 2022

Conor McGregor has been on the sidelines since his third fight against Dustin Poirier earlier this year. During the time that he has been out of action, McGregor has received call-outs from multiple fighters in the UFC. ‘The Notorious’ has himself also challenged a lot of fighters in the UFC across multiple weight classes. The most recent fighter being Max Holloway.

we got it. March

Journalist Sean Sheehan put up a picture with a caption, “Reply with the last MMA picture on your phone.” McGregor replied to the comment with a picture of his fight against Max Holloway. In the picture, Holloway looked petrified, as McGregor was about to unleash his offense. This did not slip by the former featherweight champion who responded to the post saying, “we got it. March”

Max Holloway vs Conor McGregor- the fight to make?

During his run in the featherweight division, McGregor took on a young and extremely inexperienced Max Holloway in his second fight in the UFC. ‘The Notorious’ earned a unanimous decision win and continued on with his charge at 145-pounds.

For Holloway, it was a turning point in his career. The fight against ‘The Notorious’ was the second consecutive loss for Holloway in the UFC. After which he went on a 13-fight win streak that included a title win and two defenses.

Eight years on, a lot has changed. McGregor and Holloway are no longer in the same weight class. ‘Blessed’ has a fight coming up in a few weeks when he takes on Yair Rodriguez. The common consensus is that a win over Rodriguez would land him a title shot against a familiar face in Alexander Volkanovski. It appears as though Holloway has set his sights on returning for a fight in March.

Unfortunately, ‘The Notorious’ will not be ready for a fight in March as the common consensus is that he will be ready for a fight only in the second half of 2022. There are a plethora of options for McGregor to choose from when he returns to action. A fight against Holloway would most definitely be a fan-favorite.
