Daisy May Cooper hinted there could be a new season of This Country coming very soon.

The 35-year-old actress was Friday’s guest on The One Show, where she promoted her new book Don’t Laugh, It’ll Only Encourage Her.

However before the show came to an end, presenter and singer Harry Judd couldn’t help but ask Daisy whether the beloved mockumentary sitcom will be returning for a new series.

Daisy playfully said: ‘When I need more money, absolutely.’

The British writer is the star, co-creator, and writer of This Country, the award-winning BBC Three mockumentary sitcom about life in rural England.

Across three series, penned with her brother Charlie Cooper (who plays Kurtan), the country won three Royal Television Awards and four Baftas, including one for best female comedy performance for Daisy’s performance as Kerry.

After ending This Country in 2020, Daisy also teased there could be a chance to catch up with Kerry and Kurtan Mucklow again for a Christmas special.

‘A Christmas special, Gavin and Stacey did really well,’ Daisy later added.

This Country steadily became a hugely popular British comedy, following cousins Kurtan and Kerry navigating through life in suburban Gloucestershire, terrorising neighbours and giving their local vicar a headache.

The star’s new book also details the time a producer told her she couldn’t play the iconic Kerry.

In an Instagram video, Daisy said ‘And it’s also about a producer, right, that turned around to me and told me that I couldn’t play Kerry in This Country. So, it’s a big f**k off to you as well, you c**t, because I’ve got four Baftas now, and I’ve got my own book coming out, which is no holds barred.

‘So all you b*****ds who’ve f**ked me off in the past, you better be f**king worried.’

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
