BREAKING: DeSean Jackson Set to Leave Los Angeles Rams in 2022
Wide receiver DeSean Jackson and Los Angeles Rams have reached the conclusion that the 34-year-old veteran will be allowed to look into trade options and that Jackson will not play against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium.
Although with the transfer window deadline closing on Tuesday, the former Pro Bowl receiver wants to seek more opportunities ahead of its closure. Jackson is not as much exposure in the field as he expected to be, since the Rams have a depth in the wide receiver spot.
Sean McVay on Jackson
“I think what it boils down to is opportunities that I think he’s deserving of and the situation and some of the circumstances that surround him,” McVay said.
“I think he’s a tremendous player who has a great track record and résumé, and I think that all the circumstances surrounding that, that [we] want to be able to be open-minded,” McVay said. “This hasn’t exactly been probably what he envisioned, and I think he deserves an opportunity to see if there’s better options out there for him.”

In great desperation for a threat receiver, the Rams signed DeSean Jackson to a one-year, $4.5 million contract that included $2.75 million guaranteed over the offseason.

And with that, the receiver reunited with McVay, who used to be his offensive coordinator during his days with the Washington Redskins, and it also was a great homecoming for him, as he was originally born and brought up in Hollywood.
Although the three-time Pro Bowler has been seldom used through the Rams‘ 6-1 run, with only eight catches for 221 yards and a touchdown. Alongside receivers like Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and Van Jefferson, the sensationalism of the star has certainly been suppressed.

The veteran receiver feels his hopes to be an active contributor to the team are getting tarnished. Jackson wants to consider other great options for a franchise that could be in alignment with his future aspirations.
