“This Will Really Sting”: Journalist on Andy Murray’s Taxing Run

The three time Grand Slam champion, Andy Murray, has been giving some breathtaking performances lately on the ATP tour. Recently, in the opening round of Paris Masters, despite playing brilliantly, Murray couldn’t clinch the victory against Dominik Koepfer of Germany.

Following his defeat, many reporters claimed that this loss will hurt him a lot. Murray, who was in a commanding position at one point, crumbled against the German. He has pulled out some amazing victories against some fine players, but this time couldn’t go past Koepfer.

“Couldn’t believe he lost that match,” Journalist on Murray’s defeat

After struggling through injuries in the past years, it looks like Andy Murray is inching closer to his former self. In the Round of 64 of Paris Masters, Murray faced the German Dominik Koepfer. The match got interesting as both the players clinched one set each. Despite having seven match points, Murray couldn’t seal the victory and fell short against the German.

Following this heartbreaking defeat, one of the reporters at Tennis Channel said, “Well, I think Murray said it all when he walked off the court just shaking his head. He couldn’t believe he lost that match. And when you think about the last five six weeks, I think half the time we’ve seen Andy Murray pull out some amazing matches or push a top 10 player to the limit.”

She continued, “His comeback has been such a great highlight for the last couple of months. This will really sting but he’s going to take the wildcard next week. I think he needs some rest but he can rest after Stockholm.”

One journalist even suggested Murray to switch rackets and look for a power-hitting racket. But definitely, this failure will affect the Brit mentally.
