Call of Duty: Vanguard players brand game ‘trash’ and ‘broken’ as bugs plague new release

ONE of Britain’s top YouTubers has blasted Call of Duty: Vanguard on release day, branding the new game “trash” and “cheap”.

Syndicate, real name Tom Cassell, launched into a tirade against the blockbuster shooter on Thursday and Friday after playing it for the first time.

In a series of tweets, the Manchester-based gamer – who has 9.7million YouTube subscribers – laid out why he thought the game was below par.

He specifically took aim at Vanguard’s “zombies mode” – a core section of the game where players try to survive as long as possible against the undead.

“Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies is an absolute L that has been handed to the community,” Cassell tweeted. “3/10 if that.”

He added: “Vanguard is in the trash and it’s on FIRE in its current state.. how did this even happen!?”

In videos published to his YouTube and social media accounts, the 28-year-old highlighted some of the faults he’d uncovered.

As well as a number of bugs, he took issue with the lack of a pause system. Casell also bemoaned the fact that the game bizarrely kicks players from private, solo games if they stand still for too long.

“It feels like a cheap version of Call of Duty Zombies,” he said in one video.

Cassell later tweeted: “I think this just comes down to this being a case of lack of time put into finishing details.”

The YouTube star’s views were echoed by fans across social media. Many are complaining of glitches in the game’s multiplayer and zombies modes.

One fuming player tweeted: “Vanguard is absolutely broken. I’m going to restart the campaign tomorrow or something”.

Another wrote in a tweet directed at the game’s publisher, Activision: “Do you want to sort the operator glitch? Just spent all morning unlocking all the challenges only for them all to be erased.”

A third said: “So far, #Vanguard is nearly unplayably bad – bad hit counters/boxes, glitches, broken maps”.

Others took issue with the game’s hotly-anticipated solo campaign mode.

One Twitter fan wrote: “Is call of duty vanguard campaign broken for anyone else? keep dying when reuniting with my team on the second mission”.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is the latest instalment in one of the most popular gaming franchises ever created.

It launched across the world on November 5 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC – as well as last-gen consoles.
