Novak Djokovic vs Daniil Medvedev: Who Has Won More Prize Money in 2021
The 2021 ATP season has been full of breathtaking performances. While Novak Djokovic conquered three Grand Slam events, Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden Major Slam at the Flushing Meadows. Besides that, Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Matteo Berrettini are also inching closer towards their first Grand Slam title.
The World No. 1 has earned more prize money this season than any other player. However, Daniil Medvedev, growing slowly and steadily, is right behind the Serb. Medvedev was successful in stopping Djokovic to record his Calendar Slam at the US Open.

The Serb started his 2021 season by lifting the Australian Open title in Melbourne. With an easy victory over Medvedev, Novak Djokovic registered his 18th Grand Slam title. Soon after, Djokovic triumphed at his home country event, Belgrade Open.
At the French Open, Djokovic gracefully defeated the reigning champion, Rafael Nadal, in the competition’s semi-finals. In the finals, he overcame Matteo Berrettini to win his second French Open title.

At the grass court in London, Novak Djokovic entered the Wimbledon with two Grand Slams of the year. The confident Serb showed asserted dominance throughout the tournament and won his 20th Major title.
With all these titles, Novak Djokovic has earned 7.46 million dollars. According to Statista, this is the most prize money earned by any player in the year 2021.
Daniil Medvedev- prize money
Daniil Medvedev is definitely making his name in the ATP tour with scintillating performances. To be precise, this year has been exceptional for the Russian. Remarkably, Medvedev started the tour by winning at the ATP cup in February 2021. Then Medvedev came out victorious at Open 13 in France.
Subsequently, he won the titles at Mallorca Open and Canadian Open. The most amazing performance from Daniil Medvedev came at US Open 2021. Medvedev cruised in the finals of the competition comfortably. In the finals, he faced the World No. 1 Novak Djokovic.
Despite capturing titles at three Majors, Djokovic fell short against Medvedev’s dominance. Moreover, the Russian recorded an easy straight-set victory to lift his maiden Grand Slam title.

With all these accomplishments, Daniil Medvedev has earned 5.66 million dollars in prize money.
Currently, Djokovic is in the first position, and Medvedev is second. And things would have been different if Medvedev had won two Grand Slam titles instead of one. But it’s evident that soon the young skillful players will dominate over players like Novak Djokovic.
