We started our fashion brand selling on car boot buys from our council house – now we’re raking it in and dress celebs
A COUPLE who ‘started from nothing’ in a council house are now set to open their first fashion boutique in Meadowhill Shopping Centre, Sheffield.
Sorelle UK started from 30-year-old Manuela Mosca’s love for fashion from the couple’s home in Parson Cross, one of the most crime-ridden parts of Sheffield, and quickly built up a prestigious online customer base, including Love Island stars.

Manuela’s savvy ways of finding old clothing items from car boot sales in South Yorkshire back in 2014 led to the entrepreneur up-cycling and modifying them which she then sold on.
She quickly amassed a cult following and the couple found their house overflowing with stock which led to her designing and branding her own clothes.
Mum-of-one Manuela who worked as a nightclub promoter gave up her job to focus full time on her business and her husband, Jamie Smedley soon followed by quitting his job as a plasterer to become commercial director of the company.

Jamie, who helped his wife build the brand said they are very excited for the opening.
He told Yorkshire Live: “My wife’s nan used to take her shopping to Meadowhall on a Saturday, and so did my nan, so it is emotional for us.
“Having our first store in Meadowhall is phenomenal.
“We could have gone to the Trafford centre, but as a brand, if we are going to grow nationwide, across outlets, we want Meadowhall to be our flagship store.”
The hard-working couple have gained a huge fan-base on social media and regularly post photos and videos of their new lavish lifestyle including holidays and cars.
They have even gotten to build their dream family home which took three years to complete.
Jamie is not surprised by Sorelle UK’s success as the couple made a lot of sacrifices along the way and took risks.
Since opening in 2014, Sorelle UK moved into premises at Hillsborough, then Kelham Island, and then a Sheffield trading estate.
The couple have ambitions to open more stores and make Sorelle UK a high street brand, according to Jamie who also praised his wife’s hard-working ethic.
“It is amazing how much she does,” he said. “And it is a lot of hard work, but it is worth it.”
He said his wife never stops working, even flying to international meetings when she was 8-months pregnant with their son.
