Rylan Clark-Neal has made his feelings known about influencers using the loophole of ‘work’ to travel to Dubai.

The former X Factor contestant, 32, slammed the reality stars and social media influencers who jetted to Dubai amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic

He told The Sun: ‘The things I work on are worthy of doing. I’m not going to Dubai on a plane and taking photos in my bikini.

‘I’m actually going to work and hosting programmes like Ready Steady Cook and showing people how to cook a meal for under a fiver, which is handy right now.

‘But I just feel at a time when there are a lot of things going on, seeing pictures of people getting on a plane going to a foreign country and lording it up on the beach for work purposes — well, I can’t believe how much work there seems to be!’

It comes after reality stars were criticised for using the excuse of working to travel to sunnier climes when they could be doing similar posts from home.

One such influencer was Sheridan Mordew who was called out by Holly Willoughby during an appearance on This Morning for claiming she was doing essential work in Dubai.

Holly pointed out that the fitness videos Sheridan was posting from her hotel room could just as easily have been done from home, without her also posting videos of her riding camels on the dunes.

Currently foreign travel, with exceptions for a limited amount of reasons – is banned under lockdown rules.

However, there has been confusion over what constitutes a vital journey abroad for work with many stars seemingly making the most of being able to get away to sunnier places all the same.
