WWE legend Ric Flair paid an emotional tribute to his late son on what would have been Reid’s 32nd birthday.

The Nature Boy shared a post in his boy’s memory early on Friday (February 26) as he revealed how proud is his to be his father almost eight years after his tragic death from an overdose in March 2013.

He tweeted: ‘Happy Birthday Champ! Not A Day Goes By Where We All Don’t Think About You! No One Will Ever Truly Understand What A Wonderful Young Man You Were!

‘These Words Spoken From Your Heart Will Forever Be Part Of My Life! I Am So Honored To Be Your Father! (sic)’

Reid wrestled twice in WCW during his own career, and worked on the independent scene, counting the NWA Mid-Atlantic Heritage Championship among the titles he won.

The touching post was shared with Ric’s Twitter followers alongside an old interview with Reid – whose mother is Elizabeth Harrell – reflecting on his dad’s illustrious career and home life.

‘When my dad would leave and go out of town, I’d wanna be with him and I’d want to go out of town with him [for] 30 days. If my mom would’ve let me, I would have,’ he said.

‘I wanna do the exact same thing he did, be on the road for 30 days, wrestling, going to a different city every night, things like that. I mean, he’s a great father, we’ve had a lot of good times.

‘He’s my role mode. I guess you could say I’d love to do everything just like him if I could.

‘It’s hard to imitate something that’s meant so much to wrestling business. I don’t think there’s gonna be another one like him. That’s just kinda how I feel about him. He’s my dad, and he’s always been there for me.’

Meanwhile, Reid’s sister Charlotte Flair – who is currently a WWE superstar in her own right – also shared her own tribute with a collage of photos.

Alongside a heart and angel emojis, she wrote: ‘Happy Birthday Champ I miss you everyday (sic)’
