Nick Kyrgios Engages in Aussie Comedian’s Hilarious Impersonation of Serena Williams’ Coach Mouratoglou

Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios, who is currently preparing at home for the 2022 ATP season, had played little tennis this year and couldn’t put up commendable performances despite showing glimpses of his best at few tournaments like Wimbledon and the Australian Open.

At SW19, Kyrgios retired midway during his third-round matchup against Felix Auger-Aliassime. Even at the US hard-court season, the Australian barely managed to get past his opening round contests. The last tournament he played was the Laver Cup.

In Australia, during a practice session, Nick Kyrgios teamed up with famous tennis impersonator and a comedian, Elliot Loney. Loney, who had a brief stint playing tennis, had to leave the sport as he dislocated his shoulder while skateboarding.

The well-known comic got into the shoes of Serena Williams‘ coach, Patrick Mouratoglou. Impersonating the French coach’s short videos where he teaches students tips on becoming better players, Loney gave advice to Kyrgios on his serve.

“Nick Kyrgios, you’re a super player. You have unbelievable serve, okay. We’re going to make it way better. At the moment, you’re hitting your serve with the strings. What you need to do – hit the serve with the butt of the racket. You are going to get way more power on your serve. A way better player”, Elliot told Kyrgios in the clip.

Towards the end of the video, Kyrgios could be seen laughing by the comedian’s mimicry of Mouratoglou.

Known around the world for being the coach of tennis stars such as Serena Williams, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Coco Gauff, Mouratoglou runs an academy in France that has scores of tennis players practicing with their peers ahead of important tournaments.

Also, the academy offers a tennis and school program for kids enrolling there as it provides tennis lessons without leaving school curriculum. Coming to Kyrgios, it’s evident by now that he has a range of talents to show on a tennis court.

But, the Australian chose to become an entertainer rather than match winner. In-fact, he made it quite clear on several occasions that the reason for him playing tennis is to make fans leave the stadium satisfied over the money they spent.

Nick Kyrgios is all set to do what he does best – produce entertaining tennis to his fans in-front of his home-crowd at the Australian Open next year.
