Dave bags most Mobo award nominations with five as Arlo Parks, Little Simz and Black Panther stars also recognised

Dave is the most nominated artist at the upcoming 2021 Mobo awards after five nods, with drill star Central Cee right behind on four and Arlo Parks and Little Simz with three apiece.
The annual ceremony recognises and celebrates black music and culture, and will return live next month in Coventry, with a host yet to be announced.
Organisers said the nominees had shown ‘talent and range’ but also ‘resilience’ following a challenging 20 months during the coronavirus pandemic.
Thiago Silva singer Dave, who received wide praise for his chart-topping second studio album, We’re All Alone in This Together this year, is up for best male act, best hip hop act, album of the year, song of the year, and video of the year.
Central Cee has landed four nods in his Mobo debut, while rap stars Ghetts and Little Simz, soul star Cleo Sol, and Mercury Prize winner Arlo Parks have earned three nods apiece.
Parks is nominated for best newcomer, best female act, and album of the year.

Little Simz will contest best female act but is also nominated for best hip hop act and video of the year.
A new award for best drill act has been introduced for 2021, with nominees Headie One, Tion Wayne, Unknown T, Digga D, K-Trap, Loski, M1llionz, Russ Millions and SR up for the accolade against Central Cee.
The best male act nominees also include AJ Tracey, Ghetts, Headie One, and Potter Payper while Shaybo, Bree Runway, Little Simz, Cleo, Arlo, and Tiana Major9 will face-off for best female.

The likes of Doja Cat, Drake, Kanye West, Lil Nas X, and Megan Thee Stallion lead the best international act shortlist.
Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya scores a nomination for best performance in a TV show/film for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah, alongside Black Panther co-star Letitia Wright, who picks up a nomination for her part in British anthology series Small Axe, directed by Steve McQueen.

‘This year’s crop of Mobo nominees have not only shown resilience but incredible talent and range.

The Mobo awards will take place on December 5 at Coventry Building Society Arena.
