Alex Albon Savagely References Sebastian Vettel & Charles Leclerc’s Infamous F1 Crash at Brazilian GP

Formula One is returning to Interlagos after a gap of two years. The sport did not visit the famous circuit in the 2020 season because of the Covid-19 restrictions in the country. Red Bull driver Alex Albon explained the track layout before the race. But in that process, he took a dig at the Ferrari F1 team.

Albon, who had his own share of bad luck in Brazil, while explaining one of the corners of the track remarked the clash between then Ferrari drivers, Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel. The clash happened the last time during the final stages of the race, which caused some friction in the team.

As reported by RedBull.com, the team’s reserve driver explained the whole layout in a very fun manner. He explained the detailing of the track by making some fun pointers.

“Turn one is the best overtaking opportunity. You can go on the outside or the inside. It’s also a great place to overtake on restarts. Turn two and three are flat-out corners, turn three is an easy flat, but it’s still a great corner.” mentioned the Thai driver.

After the long straight out of turn three you come up to turn four, which Alex claims is a great place to overtake, unless: “it’s two Ferraris!”

It’s a great track to drive. But I think there aren’t enough high-speed corners to give it ten out of ten. It’s a historic track with lots of character and is good for racing. There’s also a great atmosphere!” said the then Red Bull driver.

There will be time to judge: Sebastian Vettel

The incident between Leclerc and Vettel happened with just 5 laps to go in the race and they were fighting for P4. When Vettel tried to overtake his teammate but touched his wheels to Leclerc’s car, causing tire failures for both drivers.

” I think anyway when [two drivers crash], I think at the end that both of them have got at least a small or part percentage of responsibility. But I don’t want to judge now and tell my own opinion on the crash… in the heat [of the moment].

There will be time to judge. We will do that together,” said Vettel after the crash.

The incident might the one which made Ferrari decide to drop Vettel at the beginning of the 2020 season. But it is a shame to see both drivers crash out of the race after such minimal contact.
