“Total Opposite”: King Richard Actress Reveals How Venus and Serena Williams are in Real Life

The upcoming biopic, ‘King Richard’ portrays the inspiring lives of Venus and Serena Williams. The movie revolves around the efforts Richard Williams, the father of Serena and Venus, put into the parenting/coaching of his girls. On similar lines, Saniyya Sidney, one of the two actresses in the film, recently discussed Venus’ personality.

Interestingly, the 15-YO confessed that she loved working in the film and adores the elder Williams sister. Apart from her, Demi Singleton is portraying Serena and legendary actor Will Smith is donning the role of Sir Richard.

‘King Richard’ is creating a lot of buzz as the release date is drawing closer. The girls who are playing the roles of Serena and Venus are getting a lot of attention from everyone. Amidst this, in an interview, Saniyya Sidney, playing the role of Venus Williams, talked about her experience of working with Venus.

Saniyya said, ” You would think Serena was the quiet one, but it’s the total opposite. Venus is very quiet, especially when she was younger. She always made sure everybody was okay before she checked on herself, which I thought was such a sweet quality.”

This goes on to show how these young actors have invested time in knowing the champions inside out. “They are so humble and don’t really talk about themselves. But with how much they did for me and girls around the world, they opened a door and changed history for us, and I am so inspired to continue to do what they did, ” she further added.

Apart from Venus, Saniyya, in general, appreciated both the girls for truly inspiring others and establishing a platform for all the females out there.

Venus Williams penned down a heart-melting message after watching the film. She expressed, “It’s super emotional. I’ve seen the trailer, I’ve read the script, and every time I watch it my eyes are just watering.”

Moreover, she applauded the efforts of Demi and Saniyya by saying, ” I think it was amazing to see the family atmosphere on the set and how much Demi and Saniyya really acted like Serena and I, even when the cameras weren’t rolling, like holding hands, and it was so sweet.”
