Sparring Partner Reveals the Worst Thing You Can Do Against Tyson Fury, Gives Credit to Deontay Wilder
British heavyweight Johnny Fisher is an up-and-coming boxer who has trained with Tyson Fury. The young Brit holds a 4-0 record and has claimed all 4 of his wins via KO. Having helped Fury prepare, Fisher will undoubtedly have gained valuable experience for his own career as well as insight into what it is like to spar with ‘The Gypsy King’.
Fisher appeared on a podcast for the Boxing Social channel on YouTube, where he spoke about sparring with Tyson Fury. “But Tyson Fury is just, he’s a different level to anything I’ve experienced before and you know why he’s the best in the world after sparring him. Aggression, but aggression from range as well. With looping shots that you can’t see.”
“So you’ve gotta always be on your game. You can’t just shell up and think, oh I’m gonna be defensive. That’s probably the worst thing to do against Tyson Fury because you’re a sitting duck. So your best way of doing it is being your natural self. And, it’s the aggression and the power and the strength he has being a 6’9″ man as well.”

“Coz you expect someone to be strong is probably a little more compact and dense like a six-foot-three, six-foot-four frame, someone who comes forward. Maybe like a Derek Chisora or someone like that. But he’s got strength, and he’s got size and reach and boxing IQ all at the same time. He’s got a little bit of everything and I think that’s what makes him the best,” Fisher said.
Fury is unusually fast and powerful for someone his size. He uses his reach and speed to his advantage. Additionally, ‘The Gypsy King’ throws feints to keep his opponents guessing and moves around the ring very well. What sets him apart from the other heavyweights is that he is very nimble on his feet and he can close the distance and evade punches very well.

Tyson Fury never gives up
Johnny Fisher also spoke about the quality that sets Fury apart from any other fighter.
“But what sets him apart from most boxers on the planet, and you’ve gotta give Wilder credit for this as well, is his mindset. He doesn’t give up, and he keeps going and he keeps coming forward. He sparred twelve rounds with three or four different sparring partners. Not that he was fighting at pace, but that’s gonna be difficult for anyone.”

“We saw it in the first fight, we saw it in the third fight as well and I think that’s what sets him apart,” Fisher revealed.
Tyson Fury displayed all these attributes in his trilogy fight against ‘The Bronze Bomber’. Wilder, one of the hardest-hitting punchers in boxing, has vicious one-punch KO power which he put on display against Fury. Despite being knocked down by Fury in the third round, Wilder knocked ‘The Gypsy King’ down twice in the very next round.

Wilder was not losing on the scorecards. Akin to many of his fights, all he needed was just one punch to land clean for him to secure the victory. However, Fury refused to give up.
He fell to the floor twice, but he got back up again to close out the fight in dramatic fashion with an 11th round KO victory. Do you think Tyson Fury is one of the greatest heavyweights of all time?
