The Wheel of Time: Who is in the cast of Amazon TV series with Rosamund Pike?

New TV series The Wheel of Time is set to bring an epic fantasy tale to life on Amazon Prime Video, with Rosamund Pike leading the cast of the dramatic tale.
The show, which has received numerous praiseworthy reviews, is based on the book series of the same name, with the release date of the first three episodes fast-approaching.
Rosamund plays a character called Moiraine, who is part of a powerful organisation called the Aes Sedai and has the ability to use the One Power, a form of magic.
Moiraine travels to a village called the Two Rivers to find a person known as the ‘Dragon Reborn’, who is believed will either save the world or destroy it with a power they aren’t even aware they possess.
The Gone Girl actor is joined in the series by a group of talented actors, several of whom star as the five young people who may count the Dragon Reborn among them.
Here are the main actors starring alongside Rosamund in the spectacular story.
Daniel Henney

American actor Daniel Henney, 41, gained international fame as Dr Henry Kim on Korean drama My Lovely Sam Soon, before going on to star in films including X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Seducing Mr Perfect and Big Hero 6, in which he voiced the character of Tadashi, the older brother of the protagonist Hiro.
He has also starred in TV shows including Hawaii Five-0 and Criminal Minds, in which he played series regular Matthew Simmons.
In The Wheel of Time, Daniel’s character, al’Lan Mandragoran, is always at Moiraine’s side as her protector, otherwise known as a Warder.
Josha Stradowski

Having begun his acting career as a child starring in musicals such as The Sound of Music, as a teenager, Dutch actor Josh Stradowski went on to be cast in TV shows as a teenager.
In 2018, the 26-year-old starred in the film Just Friends, a romance which earned several award recognitions, including winning the Audience Award at the Milan International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival.
Rand, who Josha plays in the fantasy TV series, dreams of living a normal life in the village of the Two Rivers with his love, Egwene.
Madeleine Madden

When she was just 13 years old, Madeleine, 24, became the first teenager in Australia to deliver an address to the nation, speaking for two minutes about the future of Indigenous Australians in a speech broadcast to millions.
The actor, who aspires to direct one day, has starred in TV shows including Ready For This, The Moodys and Redfern Now, as well as the 2019 film Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
Madeleine stars in The Wheel of Time as Egwene, who has a feeling she’s destined for greatness but isn’t initially sure how.
Zoë Robins

New Zealand actor Zöe Robins, who was born in 1993, has starred in productions including TV series Power Rangers Ninja Steel as White Ninja Steel Ranger, the film The New Tomorrow and the 2019 horror Black Christmas.
The actor portrays Nynaeve in The Wheel of Time, a woman who has taken on the role of the Wisdom in her village of the Two Rivers.
In the books, a Wisdom is a term used in the region to describe the person in charge of the Women’s Circle, as well as being the village healer and having the ability to listen to the wind.
Marcus Rutherford

Marcus Rutherford’s character Perrin in The Wheel of Time is one of the young people Moiraine mysteriously recruits on her travels.
The British actor, born in 1995, starred as Dezzy in the TV series Bulletproof, as well as appearing in County Lines and the 2018 drama Obey, which won the Breakthrough Award at the Bafta Awards in Wales.
Marcus was nominated for Most Promising Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards for his performance.
Barney Harris

British actor Barney Harris, who was born in 1996, plays Mat in the first season of The Wheel of Time.
However, he is being replaced in the role by Dónal Finn in season two, which has already begun filming.
Barney has previously starred in films such as Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk and A Brixton Tale, as well as TV shows including Clique and The Hollow Crown.

Other actors who are starring in The Wheel of Time include Game of Thrones actor Michael McElhatton as Rand’s father Tam, Money Heist star Álvaro Morte as Logain Ablar and Oscar nominee Sophie Okonedo as Siuan Sanche, the head of the Aes Sedai.
Maria Doyle Kennedy, Kate Fleetwood, Hammed Animashaun, Priyanka Bose and Abdul Salis are some of the other stars also appearing in the show.
The first three episodes of The Wheel Of Time premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Friday November 19.
