Katherine Schwarzenegger opts to order from the children’s menu when she eats out.

The 31-year-old author, who has 15-month-old daughter Lyla with Guardians of the Galaxy star husband Chris Pratt, prefers to opt for a small portion when she eats a meal at a restaurant.

She admitted to US Weekly magazine: ‘I order off the children’s menu when I go out for dinner.’

Katherine’s own prowess in the kitchen has been improving and her nine-year-old stepson Jack – her husband’s child with his first wife, Anna Faris – recently complimented her culinary skills, though it seems she’d set a low bar initially.

She also told the publication: ‘One of the best compliments I received this year was from my stepson Jack. He told me my cooking has improved a lot from when I burned his Bagel Bites!’

The activist is a devoted mum, who enjoys ‘waking up early and having morning time with my daughter’.

However, she also revealed it’s never enough, explaining: ‘After I put my daughter to sleep, I often look at pictures of her on my phone and am tempted to go wake her up because I miss her.’

Her husband Chris recently said that he was ‘upset and depressed’ in a video uploaded after he faced backlash to a social media post he shared about his wife and their ‘healthy daughter’.

The Jurassic Park actor put a gushing post about his wife on Instagram, in which he praised his partner for giving him a ‘healthy daughter’.

Some have perceived the post as insensitive as the actor’s son with Anna Faris  has suffered from serious health issues over the years.

Chris did not address the post directly but shared in a video: ‘I went to bed last night feeling kind of upset and depressed and I woke up feeling crappy and I didn’t want to work out.

‘I knew though, if I put on my Christian music playlist and I got out in the woods and ran, I would feel better, but I just didn’t want to, and I did it anyways and gosh, was I right. It felt amazing.’

Chris urged fans: ‘If you feel down today, maybe get some exercise and maybe listen to some good worship music, or get the word in, because it really helped me this morning.’
