“It’s a Memory”: Does Lionel Messi Miss Cristiano Ronaldo? PSG Star Opens Up

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have ruled the world of football for over a decade now. While other players have had their peaks and special seasons, none of them come close to matching the continued dominance of these two players. However, after a decade-long rivalry in La Liga, both of them have now left the league.

Ronaldo left Real Madrid in 2018 and joined the then Italian champions, Juventus. Meanwhile, Messi left FC Barcelona this summer in a highly controversial transfer and joined French giants, PSG.

Lionel Messi talks about his rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo

Messi recently scored his first league goal for Paris Saint Germain after having a tough start to life at the French club. Moreover, he talked about his rivalry with Ronaldo in an interview and revealed what he thinks of the forward’s current form at Manchester United.

Ronaldo’s return to Man Utd? He has adapted impressively. He scored goals as usual and had no problems adapting,” Messi revealed.

Ronaldo has indeed been amazing for Manchester United, especially in the UEFA Champions League. He has scored five goals in four UCL games for the club and has ensured that United remains first in their UCL group. While he has had a less than ideal time in the Premier League, he is still the club’s leading goalscorer overall.

He also talked about the time where they both ruled the world of football together, leaving no room for competitors for the Ballon d’Or.

It’s been a long time since me and Cristiano played in the same league. We were battling for the same goals both individually and for our team. The stage was beautiful, for us and for our fans. It’s a memory that will always remain in the history of football,” he added.

It’s not like things have changed a lot though. Messi is still in contention for the Ballon d’Or this year, while Ronaldo’s goals haven’t dried up yet. However, nothing can make up for the sight of the two GOATs up against each other.
