Piers Morgan blasted feminists for wanting Mr and Mrs Potato Head ‘expunged’ for a gender-neutral toy on today’s Good Morning Britain.

After comparing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Kim Jong-un and Vladamir Putin, the no-nonsense presenter then tore into the toy makers Hasbro for giving the range a modern makeover.

Susanna pointed out that the company isn’t actually getting rid of Mr Potato Head but is simply rebranding to promote gender equality and inclusion.

‘Now you can create your own potato head family and you can have a Mrs and Mrs Potato Head,’ she noted. ‘Not all families are a Mr and a Mrs.’

But Piers wasn’t having any of it.

‘These are massive companies making these decisions to appease the wokies,’ he ranted.

This photo provided by Hasbro shows the new Potato Head world. Hasbro created confusion on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, when it removed the gender from its Mr. Potato Head brand, but not from the actual toy. The company, which has been making the potato-shaped plastic toy for nearly 70 years, announced that it was dropping Mr. from the brand in an effort to make sure ???all feel welcome in the Potato Head world.??? Hasbro clarified in a tweet that the Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head characters will still exist, names and all, but the branding on the box will say ???Potato Head.??? (Hasbro via AP)

‘Does it matter in the greater scheme of things? Not really. Is it symbolic, actually, of this rapidly encroaching abandonment of gender terminology? It’s ridiculous.

If he’d been called Mrs Potato Head do you think anyone would have complained and they’d be changing brand names? I don’t think so.’

He continued: ‘I don’t think we should be waging campaigns to get rid of gender terminology. Why can’t we be Mr? I want to be a Mr, thanks. I don’t want you telling me I can’t be Mr and I want to by a Mr Potato Head.’

‘You can still be a Mr and you can still buy a Mr Potato Head,’ Susanna explained. ‘You are literally rowing with yourself.’

This isn’t the first time Piers has expressed his frustration at the brand’s change in name.

Last week, the host called the move ‘spineless and depressing’.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
