Madonna blasts Instagram for removing risque photos and reposts censored version: ‘It’s astounding to me’

Madonna has a huge bone to pick with Instagram for removing her controversial and risque photo shoot.

The Like A Virgin hitmaker increased her shock factor by sharing racy photos of herself posing on a bed dressed in lingerie and fishnet tights, while also flashing a nipple in a couple of the snaps.

It made Piers Morgan clutch his proverbial pearls while Kate Beckinsale used it as an opportunity to prank her daughter.

As for Instagram? They decided to take down the photos for apparently breaching their guidelines on nudity.

On Thursday, Madonna, 63, reposted the images but with her modesty covered with various emoji.

She then blasted the social media platform in the caption, writing: ‘I’m reposting photographs Instagram took down without warning or notification….. The reason they gave my management that does not handle my account was that a small portion of my nipple was exposed.

‘It is still astounding to me that we live in a culture that allows every inch of a woman’s body to be shown except a nipple. As if that is the only part of a woman’s anatomy that could be sexualized. The nipple that nourishes the baby!’

She continued: ‘Can’t a mans nipple be experienced as erotic ??!! And what about a woman’s ass which is never censored anywhere. Giving thanks that I have managed to maintain my sanity through four decades of censorship…… sexism……ageism and misogyny.

Referring to Thanksgiving which the US is celebrating today, the pop icon added: ‘Perfectly timed with the lies we have been raised to believe about the pilgrims peacefully breaking bread with the Native American Indians when they landed on Plymouth Rock! God bless America 🇺🇸 ♥️❌ #artistsareheretodisturbthepeace.’

Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers used a pun and said Madonna had hit ‘rock bottom’, while Anneka Rice mused: ‘Madonna and I are exactly the same age. I presume she’s searching for her phone charger. If I tried that I’d never be able to get up again.’

Lorraine Kelly said on her ITV programme: ‘Looking at the photos though, she looks amazing, but is that Madonna, honestly I can’t tell.

‘She looks in great shape, but they do look, well I think they look pretty sleazy, but that’s just me. She’s fantastic, but she doesn’t look great.’
