Rebekah Vardy has paid a heartfelt tribute to her dance partner Andy Buchanan after they were eliminated from Dancing on Ice.

In scenes which aired last night, Rebekah and Andy landed in the skate-off against rapper Lady Leshurr and her partner Brendyn Hatfield.

Both contestants received two votes from the judges, meaning head judge Jayne Torvill had to make the final decision.

In the end, she decided to put Lady Leshurr through to the semi-final.

Following her exit, Rebekah took to Instagram where she shared a lengthy post thanking the show and her fans for their support.

‘Thank you for everything @dancingonice. To the entire cast & crew, Lawrence, the creatives, Marcos & the H+M team, costume – EVERYONE – from the bottom of my heart thank you,’ she penned.

‘I’ve made some new friends for life & been welcomed in by people that I can’t even believe I’ve been lucky enough to perform alongside. You all know who you are.’

The 39-year-old went on to praise Lady Leshurr as she told her ‘I’m so happy you’re still standing’.

She also thanked her family and closest friends as she admitted she was looking forward to having time at home with her family again.

Paying a tribute to Andy, Rebekah continued: ‘Finally -to @andybuchanan2 Bucharoo – I have loved every single moment of training with you (apart from that one grumpy Friday you had but let’s never mention it again).

‘You are an unbelievable talent you are kind, patient, caring, supportive, creative and the best partner that I could have wished for. You took my wild child, throw myself at the ice like an excited toddler ways & nurtured me into a capable & confident skater.

‘I was even at the point where I wasn’t terrified of skating on live TV & that is down to you. You boosted my confidence & turned a terrified woman who had never even taken one dance class into a skater who couldn’t wait to perform to the best of my abilities. Any ability that I have is because of you.’

She added: ‘Can you believe you got a 39 year old mother of 5 to do the headbanger in a Rachel Green wig I could never have done that without you. I’m eternally grateful. You & @merobinorjane are our extended family for life now.’

Rebekah concluded her post by thanking the viewers who voted for her throughout the competition.

Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield after she was eliminated last night, Rebekah told the hosts that she ‘has loved every minute’ of the show.

Asked whether she was ready to leave the competition just yet, she replied: ‘No, but you know these things happen and you know, I had a great time and thank you ever so much for teaching me what you have.’

The remaining celebs left in the competition includes Faye Brookes, Lady Leshurr, Colin Jackson and Sonny Jay, who will all compete next week for a place in the final.

Dancing on Ice returns on Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
