Boxing is full of surprises, but Teofimo Lopez losing his lightweight titles to George Kambosos Jr. wasn’t really a shock to several people. On looking at the first few rounds, it was clear that Kambosos Jr. had arrived to offer his best, and that exactly happened in the in-ring scrap. Although Lopez could offer heat from his end, it didn’t fetch him a successful title defense.

The Honduran-born boxer stood strong for all 12-rounds and had even knocked down his opponent. However, he suffered the same in return and lost the fight via split decision, contracting a defeat in his flawless professional record.

Post-fight, Lopez crashed into George Kambosos Jr’s interview and delivered his raw emotions. He was clearly unhappy with the result and bashed the judge’s decision in an open-mic condition.

Not to mention, he exploited them fully and dropped ‘Take Over’. However, Lopez got back up instantly and dropped Kambosos Jr. in reply. It set the road clear for an exciting battle for the rest of the night.

But Kambosos Jr. appeared the better man and could bring all the world lightweight titles to Australia in a historic win of his career.
