It’s been a long wait for BTS fans, but thousands of ARMY members finally got to see the band live for their first in-person concert in two years.

The Korean pop stars took to the stage in Los Angeles last night for their first big gig since the pandemic hit.

The group – consisting of Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, RM, V and Suga – last toured in 2019 with Love Yourself: Speak Yourself, and now they’re bringing their Permission to Dance On Stage: Live Play shows to life.

It will come as no surprise that the atmosphere in the stadium was electric, as the boys wowed with their smooth dance moves.

They even had a massive screen up to ensure everyone in the 70,000 capacity venue had a crystal clear view of every song.

The stage itself was built in a T-shape, with the band frequently running out into the centre and giving fans a 360 degree view.

Another special touch to their show was their BTS light sticks, which tens of thousands of fans bought from the merch stand.

They were specially programmed to light up along with the show, and spelt out ‘BTS Army’ across the crowd at one point.

The group’s fanbase is famous for being unconditionally passionate and dedicated, and that love is still going strong as ticket holders travelled across the globe to SoFi Stadium for the show.

In fact, a queue formed around the stadium more than a full day before the concert, as fans lined up for the merchandise booth.

Extra tickets for Dance On Stage: Live Play were also suddenly made available by Ticketmaster on Thursday, even though the concert was supposedly sold out for several months.

The Dynamite hitmakers have a string of performances lined up, as their tour continues this weekend, as well as December 1 and December 2.

BTS have taken the world by storm over the past couple of years and, most recently, stole the limelight at the American Music Awards by bagging three awards, including major prizes artist of the year and favourite pop song for Butter.

Winners of the AMAs are decided entirely by fan votes, showing just how supportive BTS fans are.

BTS also performed My Universe with Coldplay and their chart-topper Butter at the award show.

In one of their acceptance speeches, Jungkook hinted the band has exciting plans for the future.

‘We just wanted to make people happy with our music,’ he said.

‘We believe that this award opens the beginning of our new chapter.’
