Cristiano Ronaldo Displays Unsportsmanlike Behavior After Manchester United Draw to Chelsea

Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea is the latest source of hope that the United fans are holding on to for this season. Chelsea was running riot and still sit at the top of the Premier League with 30 points from 13 games, but Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t happy with a draw against the table toppers.

Manchester United was resilient throughout the match, and the saves made by De Gea, combined with countless blocks from the United defense, were enough for the draw. United actually opened the scoring in the second half when Jorginho couldn’t control the clearance from a Chelsea corner.

Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to get off the pitch immediately

Jadon Sancho pounced on his sloppy touch and took the ball away to go through on goal with Marcus Rashford by his side. However, he didn’t need his teammate and slotted the ball past Edouard Mendy. Jorginho did redeem himself a few minutes later by scoring a penalty that Thiago Silva won.

In a match where both teams could’ve potentially won the tie, Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t hide his frustrations after full-time. According to ESPN journalist Mark Ogden, the Portuguese forward didn’t interact with the fans after the match was over.

Ronaldo (went) straight down the tunnel. No handshakes or waves to the fans, just straight off the pitch,” Ogden tweeted.

Ronaldo was also given a yellow card by the referee Anthony Taylor in injury time, which the superstar didn’t approve of. Moreover, he wanted to win the match and score his first goal against Chelsea in the Premier League. However, none of it could happen and now United find themselves in eighth place with 18 points from 13 games.

Manchester United and their new interim manager, Ralf Rangnick

The groundwork is here for the new manager Ralf Rangnick to build upon, and as the German manager finds himself in the Old Trafford seats, Manchester United might finally be back on track again.

The appointment of Rangnick is a shrewd move from the United board, and because he’ll be an interim manager, there will be the possibility of hiring someone like Mauricio Pochettino or Erik Ten Hag in the summer.
