WOW! Eiffel Tower Receives Eye-Catching Addition as Tribute to Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi is one of the greatest footballers to ever play the game, and along with Cristiano Ronaldo, has dominated the sport since 2008. Even at 34, Messi proved that he hasn’t regressed at all. Remarkably, the Argentinian forward won his seventh Ballon d’Or last night.
FC Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski finished in second place, despite fans online calling for him to win it. Messi backed himself with an extraordinary number of goals and assists. Moreover, he also had one of his best seasons with a poor FC Barcelona squad and won the Copa America with Argentina.
Notably, Paris Saint Germain, Messi’s current club, organized a fitting tribute for their player, placing 7 golden goats in front of the Eiffel Tower for Lionel Messi.

The Ballon d’Or ceremony and the rankings

The Ballon d’Or ceremony was celebrated with much aplomb, as several great entities were present at the event. Other than Lewandowski and Messi, Kylian Mbappe was also at the ceremony. Hollywood sensations, Zendaya and Tom Holland, the leads in the new Marvel movie, Spiderman: No Way Home, also made a special appearance at the event.

As for the rankings, Chelsea’s Italian midfielder Jorginho finished in third place, and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema came in fourth. Controversially, Cristiano Ronaldo finished in sixth place. Deservingly well, French International N’golo Kante came in fifth.

However, no one came close to matching Lionel Messi.

Lionel Messi and his start to life at Paris Saint Germain

The Argentinian forward left FC Barcelona last season after single-handedly carrying them up to third place in the league. He joined PSG amidst a historical transfer window where the Parisian club managed to sign Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos too.

However, Messi didn’t have the best start in the league at PSG, failing to find the back of the net initially. Only recently, he scored for PSG in Ligue 1 and also got three assists in a match against Saint Ettiene. With Messi coming back to his best, and Ballon d’Or no. 7 working its magic over the maestro, it’ll be interesting to see if Messi can guide PSG to their first Champions League title.
