When will I receive my Universal Credit boost?

NEARLY two million of the lowest income working households who receive Universal Credit will today benefit from a cash boost.

When will I receive my Universal Credit boost?

The harsh taper rate – the amount of benefits that a claimant loses over a certain threshold – is being cut just before Christmas as Rishi Sunak’s Budget surprise comes into force to help those in need of extra funds this winter.

Brits should have received confirmation of their benefits boost in their usual monthly statement.

Half a million people are expected to get the extra cash.

This is thanks to cutting the taper rate down by eight pence a pound.

The first recipients will start getting their increased funds from December 1.,

The rest will receive their instalments depending on pay dates. About two million should get the extra cash before Christmas.


How much will I get in the Universal Credit boost? 

Work allowances will be boosted by £500.

The taper rate will be cut by eight per cent for some of the poorest working people in the UK helping nearly two million working families.

tt will be a boost to millions who saw their benefits slashed after the pandemic’s £20 a week extra cash came to an end.

Households can also get access to a new £500million support fund to help them with essentials.

How can I claim the Universal Credit boost? 

Claimants will be notified how much Universal Credit they will be awarded in their usual monthly statement.

The first of those to reflect the changes being issued from December 1.
