Ben Affleck has opened up about his surprise reunion with Jennifer Lopez, admitting that it’s ‘a great story’.

Tell us something we don’t know.

The former couple sent the world into meltdown when they jumped back into a relationship earlier this year, bringing us the Bennifer 2.0 update that we didn’t know we were crying out for.

Lifting the lid on their romance – which previously ended in 2004 – the Tender Bar actor, 49, described it as ‘beautiful’.

In a candid interview with the Wall Street Journal magazine, he touched on how they restarted things, and said: ‘I can say that it’s definitely beautiful to me. And, you know, one of the things I really value across all facets of my life now is that it was handled in a way that reflected that.

‘My life now reflects not just the person that I want to be, but the person that I really feel like I am – which is not perfect, but somebody who tries very hard and cares very much about being honest and authentic and accountable. It’s hard to say who benefits more, without going into gossipy detail.

‘I could just say that I feel great about being very healthy. And it is a good story. It’s a great story. And, you know, maybe one day I’ll tell it. I’ll write it all out. And then I’ll light it on fire,’ he laughed.

Ben, who shares three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, also explained that one of the ‘harder’ lessons he has learned over the years is not to ‘share everything with the world’.

Which is fair enough.

‘I know that I feel more comfortable having those healthy boundaries in my life around which, in a friendly and straightforward way, I tell you, I just don’t want to be talking about my personal relationship in the newspaper,’ he continued. ‘I’m going to exercise a little restraint.’

The Good Will Hunting actor and Love Don’t Cost A Thing singer, 52, reunited earlier this year, after weeks of speculation and some not-so subtle dates.

Since then, they have been inseparable, and we have all been living for every single scrap of PDA – from kisses between courses at dinner in Malibu to loved-up red carpet spots.

They recently took things up a notch and celebrated Thanksgiving together in LA.

JLo previously touched on their reunion during a chat with Today, when she was asked if she would be open to getting married again.

‘I don’t know, yeah, I guess. You know me, I’m a romantic. I always have been,’ she said. ‘I’ve been married a few times. Yeah, I still believe in happily ever after, for sure, 100 percent.’

She called off her engagement to Alex Rodriguez in April of this year – but vowed that she isn’t ashamed of her romantic history or any past relationships, as she is ‘proud’ of where she is in life.

‘If you can’t laugh at yourself and just take it as it comes, I just don’t think about those things. I feel like I’m a human being like everybody else,’ she insisted.

‘I’ve had my ups and downs, I’ve made mistakes and I’m really proud of where I’ve come to in my life and who I am as a person, as a mom, and as an actor and as an artist. So yeah it’s okay, everybody’s got that.’
