Lewis Hamilton Reveals He Called Up Mercedes F1 Director James Allison Amid Cheating Accusations
The title rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes is bubbling up with the season finale inching closer and the pressure persistently on the rise; Red Bull’s recent remarks suggest the same too. Mercedes have been facing accusations of cheating amidst Toto Wolff’s ‘spicy’ new Interlagos engine claim for the Saudi Arabian GP.
Consequently, Red Bull F1 boss, Christian Horner, threatened to protest against the allegedly illegal Mercedes W12. And, in the middle of the cheating storm stands Lewis Hamilton. As expected, Red Bull’s concerns don’t include Valtteri Bottas and are restricted to his excessively dominant teammate, Hamilton.
Hence, amidst the ever-rising allegations, Hamilton has decided to chip in his opinion on this controversial argument.
What did Lewis Hamilton say?
As reported by The Sun, Hamilton admitted that he initially feared Red Bull’s claims might be true. However, to clear his concerns, he apparently had quite long discussions with chief technical officer James Allison and technical director, Mike Elliott and sounded certain that Mercedes W12 is far from being framed as an illegal car.

“I called James Allison and Mike Elliott. And said I really want to know about these things. They have taken me through the details of where we are. We have done all these tests and this is where it is. But, I don’t like it when people put that out there,” he said.
“It is not tarnishing it, it is just the wrong thing to do.”
Worst claim ever to make: Mercedes F1 champion
The 7-time world champion is not a happy man amidst recent comments that Mercedes are cheating. Hamilton opined that such claims are the worst ever to make.

“We all have egos and that’s what controls our emotions and it is egos fighting each other there is defence,” he said. “There is respect, but what is important – I did see someone say something about cheating and that’s the worst claim to ever make.”
Overall, regardless of Hamilton‘s interpretation, it is almost certain that Red Bull will look to launch a protest against their rivals. Hence, who is ultimately going to come out as the winner in this insanely controversial off-track battle? We’ll know in time.
