At one point in professional wrestling, The Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan rivalry was so splendid that all of North America tuned in on WrestleMania VI to see them clash. As he mentioned in the interview, Hogan realized he was no longer the money-drawer of the company. WWE chairman Vince McMahon is notoriously known for pushing heavy-built wrestlers more. Hogan mentioned that as soon as the Ultimate Warrior entered the promotion, the attention shifted towards him and his significantly better-built frame.
He talked about how Vince’s eyes sparkled at the prospect of a ‘better money-making package’ on seeing The Ultimate Warrior.
Vince McMahon was ready to sacrifice Hulk Hogan
In the interview, Hogan stated that he had no problem putting Warrior over. However, he still had questions in his mind regarding his future in the business and in the company.

“When we did the WrestleMania thing, we did the build-up pretty good. Then it gets time to go over the finish, and whether I’m going over or not, I have the same two questions: Why are we doing this, and what happens next? When I was told to put the Warrior over, I asked those questions and Vince said, ‘I think the red and yellow is over, we have gotten everything we can out of it.’”
Eventually, all of this backstage uncertainty led the former WWE champion to leave the company and join WCW. This eventually started the infamous Monday Night War. Do you think Vince was right to overlook Hulk Hogan?
