Former NFL Punter Makes Insensitive Comments on The Rock’s Cousin During WWE SmackDown
WWE SmackDown: December 3rd, 2021, featured a match between Sasha Banks and Shayna Baszler. While the match was entertaining, the commentary from Pat McAfee was controversial.
Pat McAfee passed a comment about Nia Jax and Eva, referring to WWE recently releasing the pro-wrestlers from their contract. It was insensitive of him to pass a comment about this considering how poorly the release impacted the talents.
Pat McAfee saying that Shayna injured Nia and Eva with a “Future Endeavors Kick on the stairs” is … a choice.#SmackDown

Unfortunately, McAfee didn’t seem to consider any of the consequences before making a comment during the live show. Even though WWE cut it out in the recap videos, the audience still heard what he said, and reacted.
Imagine thinking talent is the reason for people being fired and not a company chopping down all their assets so they look more profitable when they sell their company to like Disney

I never understood this. Why let them say it on TV I’d you are gonna just censor them in the recap videos? Makes no sense

The way Michael Cole paused awkwardly after Pat said it.
It was odd.

No one is impressed with the former NFL Punter for passing those comments. In fact, he immediately received backlash for what he said on live TV.

The Rock will not be happy
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has always put family first. Therefore, he won’t be happy that McAfee passed a comment about his cousin on live television.
Nia Jax responded to the comment made by Pat McAfee
Former Superstar Nia Jax refused to acknowledge her in-ring WWE character.
Therefore, she responded by asking who Nia Jax was. It’s funny how a pro-wrestler moved on from WWE upon her release, and did not wait around for anything from the company!

However, it still wasn’t okay for Pat McAfee to make the comment.
WWE released a bizarre number of Superstars in 2021
The company began releasing talent in February 2021, and did not stop.
There was at least one release or more every month, and the WWE Universe wasn’t even shocked by the time November 2021 arrived.
While many released Superstars have completed their non-compete clause, moved on from WWE, and have found solace in other promotions, especially AEW.

Over the months, numerous former Superstars have made their AEW debut such as The Big Show, Aleister Black, Andrade, and others.
Apart from released Superstars, pro-wrestlers who finished their contract with WWE moved on to AEW such as Adam Cole and Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson).
So far, there’s no saying if WWE will release any talent in December 2021 or not. Fortunately, so far the company hasn’t announced any names that is being released in December 2021.
