Sandra Bullock recalls NSFW slip-up from filming nude scene in The Proposal with Ryan Reynolds: ‘I didn’t see it, I didn’t look!’

Sandra Bullock has revealed an embarrassing faux pas that happened during the filming of a naked scene for her hit comedy film The Proposal, and how her co-star Ryan Reynolds ‘was just so cool’ in the face of the accident.
The two acting colleagues have ‘known each other since we were prepubescent’ as the 57-year-old put it, adding: ‘We go way, way, way, way back.’
Setting the scene on the About Last Night podcast with Adam Ray, she recalled: ‘We had to do the naked scene that day and we had a closed set, which means no one’s allowed to be on there, just hair and makeup coming in to fluff and hide.’
‘Ryan and I have these flesh-coloured things stuck to our privates, my hair is strategically over the nipples and Ryan’s little – not little, at all! It’s just whatever’s there, and I don’t know because I didn’t see it, didn’t look! – is protected and caressed and stuck in wherever it needs to be stuck.’
The Speed star explained that, as they collided in the scene, they were not in the most comfortable of positions and ‘couldn’t really move’ as Deadpool actor Ryan ‘was on his back with his knees up, and I was on the floor just sort of resting on his knees, just waiting’.
Unfortunately, it turned out this position revealed more of Ryan than had ever been intended.

She continued: ‘Then, I hear [director] Anne Fletcher from the darkness go, “Ryan, we can see your ball sack!” I’m like, “Oh God!” Because you wanna look down but I’m like, “Don’t look down. Don’t look down.”‘
As the actress recalled her panic over wondering if she could – or should – help Ryan out, she also noted that Anne’s voice ‘boomed’ the information ‘as loud as you possibly can’, meaning everyone on set immediately looked to see if they could catch a glimpse of her co-star’s privates.
She remembered: ‘Everyone in the darkness spun around to see if they could find a monitor. I was like, “Anne, there’s a way to present that information…”‘

She also reassured the host that ‘it wasn’t my business to look’ and praised the Green Lantern star for his handling of the situation.
‘He was just so cool. Unflappable. He is absolutely unflappable,’ she said.
The Miss Congeniality actress also stated that she only agreed to the nude scene if she could ‘be humiliated and funny’ as she has no interest in ‘trying to attempt being sexy naked’ – in real life or onscreen.

Sandra also praised her pal Ryan for how safe he made her feel during filming of the scene as he was a friend that she ‘trusted comedically’, noting that a ‘a sense of safety and camaraderie’ can be hard to come by in that instance.

Sandra was also praised this week for her raw and honest comments about race, when she revealed that she sometimes ‘wished’ that her skin matched that of her two Black adopted children as it would then ‘be easier on how people approach us’.
The star is mum to son Louis, 11, and daughter Laila, nine, who she adopted on her own.
