Kevin Durant Once Said on His Faith: “I Do Go to the Chapel Before Every Game”
Kevin Durant is known for his stellar performance on the court and for his business dealings and endorsements off the court. He featured on the list of the NBA’s richest players, won the gold medal at the Olympics, was the MVP of the FIBA World Championships, won an NBA Championship, got selected to multiple NBA All-Star games, won league scoring titles, and has been a collegiate All-American all before the age of 25.
He’s undeniably been one of the most consistent performers in the NBA for the past decade. On the spiritual side of things, Durant has been described as a religious person and said that he goes to the chapel before every game.

“I do go to chapel before every game. When I first got into the League, (former teammate) Kevin Ollie got everybody going on the team (to chapel) and wanting to learn more,” Durant had once stated.
Kevin Durant reads his Bible every day
While he was talking about his childhood, Durant mentioned that he always wondered about the meaning of things, like who made us and why we do certain things. He described the conversation he had with his mom and his teachers about the spiritual world.
His mom used to take him to church regularly when he was growing up, but when he got into high school, he kind of lost that practice. After being inspired by his former teammate, Kevin Ollie, Durant talked about how he wanted to lead and inspire others in return.
He said, “He (Ollie) was a good leader in helping me do that, making me feel more comfortable in my faith around other people and being able to pray for other people and pray out loud and things like that. Now I like to lead more and more… I read my Bible now all the time. The movie, The Book of Eli, inspired me.”

By reading the bible every day, Durant became stronger mentally and emotionally. It also helped him to be grateful for what he has and accomplished in life. Let us know what you think of Durant’s spiritual journey.
