“He Truly Is a Special Player”: Pittsburgh Steelers QB Backs T.J Watt for MVP of the Year
Steelers Linebacker T.J Watt has simply been mesmerising this season. From troubling Lamar Jackson from scoring touchdowns to recording 16 sacks in just 10 games, only unbelievable circumstances can prevent him from winning the Defensive Player of the Year. But what about the MVP award?
T.J Watt has simply been amazing this season
Last night, the Pittsburgh Steelers eked out a dramatic win over the Baltimore Ravens. The match ended 19-20 and TJ Watt undeniably was the star of the match. The defensive stalwart notched up a career high 3.5 sacks against the Lamar Jackson led side. The defensive prowess was so immense that the star QB was forced to acknowledge his skills. “I couldn’t do it cause of TJ Watt,” said Jackson. “I tried to throw around him and try to make something happen, that’s all.”
While his performance last night was commendable, his overall performance so far have been incredible. The Steelers player leads the NFL with 16 sacks – two more than Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett. What’s more impressive is the fact that he has achieved this feat despite missing two games this season. In addition, he has four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and 26 quarterback hits to his credit. Simply amazing!

Ben Roethlisberger vouches for team-mate to be awarded the MVP award
Veteran Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in a recent interview showered praises on TJ Watt and his skills. As per the QB, Watt is amongst the best players of all time. “I think T.J. is like seriously one of the best players I’ve played against, and I’ve played against some really good defensive guys. He truly is a special player. I’m glad I’ve never been sacked by him,” Roethlisberger added.”
He went onto add more compliments and ended by saying that he deserves the MVP award. “He is a game-changer and a game-wrecker. I’ve been a part of guys like that Troy Polamalu, who can change a football game. It doesn’t happen on defense that often. To be a literal game-changer on defense is something completely special. He should be recognized more than just [Defensive Player of the Year].”
Missed 2.5 games this year and STILL leading the league in sacks by 2 whole sacks.
Talk to ‘em @_TJWatt!!!!! #DPOY
