Concerns Arise for Novak Djokovic as Tennis Australia Releases Strict Regulations for Australian Open 2022

The Australian Open 2022 draws closer every day. However, there’s still no update from World No. 1, Novak Djokovic on his participation in the ‘Happy Slam’. Recently, the officials of Tennis Australia released strict guidelines concerning the pandemic.

If players don’t abide by certain rules, medical officials have declared a quarantine period for 14 days. It will be interesting to see whether Djokovic will be making his presence at the Grand Slam in which he has gracefully conquered nine times.

Tennis Australia releases strict rules for Australian Open 2022

With the ongoing pandemic, the organizers at the sports events have started to take more precautions. Tennis Australia is no same as recently they released strong regulations regarding tennis players participating at the Australian Open 2022.

” We can confirm that everyone entering Australia for the summer of tennis will need to meet the strict requirements set by health authorities across the country. These include certified proof of vaccination or a valid medical exemption approved by Australian medical officials, ” said an official from Tennis Australia.

Furthermore, special rules need to be followed for those players who couldn’t meet the conditions which include a quarantine period of 14 days.

Novak Djokovic is still skeptical

While everyone else is confirming their status for the Australian Open 2022, Novak Djokovic still hasn’t updated his fans. The 20-time Grand Slam winner has had a joyful ride in the 2021 season. He grabbed three out of four Grand Slam titles:  unfortunately, he missed out on the US Open 2021.

However, he’s hoping to achieve his record-breaking 21st Major Slam at the Australian Open 2022. On the other hand, his fellow rival Rafael Nadal is confident in competing at the first Grand Slam of 2022.
