Outlander star Sam Heughan is all for Lego creating sets inspired by the hit series, calling on the company to get into action following pleas by diehard fans.

There’s all sorts of merchandise that those who are fond of the historical drama can purchase online, from puzzles to adorable Funko Pops.

However, it seems that Outlander is lacking when it comes to Lego, amid the many Harry Potter, Friends and Marvel-themed sets available to buy.

A fan of the show tweeted about her wish to rectify this misstep, tagging stars including Sam, Graham McTavish, Caitriona Balfe, Paul Donnelly, Steven Cree and executive producer Maril Davis in the hope that they would lend their support.

That they did, with Sam, who plays Jamie Fraser, saying that he ‘seconded the motion’ to make this a reality, sharing a gif of his character saying: ‘It’s as if you read my mind.’

Some fans shared pictures of what appeared to be figurines of Jamie and Claire (portrayed by Caitriona) made out of Lego.

However, these were created by Brick to the Past, a company that specialises in making intricate, historical-themed Lego models, which is not affiliated with Lego.

Graham also tweeted his support, writing: ‘This is an excellent idea!!!! @LEGO_Group.’

That’s not all the Outlander excitement that’s floating around social media at the moment, as earlier today, Sam shared a cryptic tweet revealing that news concerning the show is on the way.

‘Got something exciting to reveal tomorrow…..’ he wrote, alongside a gif of Jamie saying: ‘I need you to trust me.’

Season six is due to premiere in March 2022, with Sam sharing in August that it was the ‘hardest’ season to film, despite being cut short.

More: Outlander

‘It’s the shortest season we’ve done, it’s only eight episodes but it’s potentially one of the hardest because we were shooting during a pandemic and there were a lot of factors involved that made it pretty difficult to shoot,’ he said on the Just The Facts with Alex Zane podcast.

Based on the book series of the same name, Outlander follows a woman called Claire, who formerly worked as a military nurse in Scotland in the Second World War, who is somehow transported back to the 18th Century, where she meets Highland warrior Jamie.

Outlander is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
