Dwyane Wade Once Slammed Kevin Durant For Ranking James Harden Above Him: “Note To Self, Make Him Respect Your Place in History”

Kevin Durant is one of the megastars in the NBA and the world of basketball. The Brooklyn Nets star remains one of the key players at his franchise. He plays alongside James Harden and Kyrie Irving for the Nets. Durant remains active on social media sites and once generated controversy for one of his opinions on two NBA greats.

Durant boldly claimed that James Harden should replace Dwyane Wade on the list of the top 100 players of 2014 curated by Sports Illustrated. Objecting to Durant’s suggestion, Wade replied through an Instagram post featuring a whiteboard with a lengthy message. The message read, “Kevin Durant said James Harden should replace me in the Top 10… Note to self* Make him respect your place in history…again.”

Wade captioned the post saying, “Don’t believe me just watch“.

Responding to Wade’s post on Twitter, Wade said, “Show me don’t tweet me..

A second overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft, Durant joined the OKC Thunder. He left the Thunders in 2016 and joined the Golden State Warriors as a free agent in a controversial move. However, his move to the Warriors paid off as he won two NBA titles with the franchise in 2017 and 2018.

Durant joined the Nets on July 7, 2019 but he did not make a single appearance for the Nets during the 2019-20 season due to injury. His Nets debut on December 22, 2020, remains a day to remember. He scored 22 points and led the Nets to a 125–99 win against the Warriors.

The Rockets defeat the Nets as Kevin Durant misses game

The Brooklyn Nets fell to a disappointing defeat against the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center. Despite the defeat, the Nets maintain a 17-8 record and are also ranked first in the Eastern Conference. Kevin Durant who is currently the NBA’s leading scorer for the season, was a big miss for the Nets as they rested him against the Rockets. James Harden featured against his former franchise in the loss.
